Calgary Zoo Action Plan

On Tuesday, September 13, 2011 the Accreditation Committee convened as usual at the annual Association of Zoos and Aquariums Conference in Atlanta and reviewed our progress to date in addressing our 36-point action plan. This was the final step required in the follow-up after the independent review I requested in early 2010. The Accreditation Committee indicated that they were very satisfied with the progress we have made and our accreditation has been confirmed until our next regularly scheduled accreditation visit in 2013. The committee indicated they could see the significant progress we have made and that we are on track in dealing with ongoing challenges. The hard work and dedication of our staff over the past 18 months has been recognized by our accrediting body and we look to the future with great optimism and confidence as we build a better Calgary Zoo.
