North Entrance Update
The new north entrance to the Calgary Zoo is now open and includes many features to improve the admission experience for our visitors. There are six admission booths at the plaza entrance and a further seven customer service booths in the tunnel to process admission, membership purchase and renewal, and program sales – more than double the capacity of our old entry facilities. Soon, four automated ticket booths will also be added to the plaza entry to provide another way to streamline the purchase of admission to the zoo. Visitors already having an annual membership can now proceed directly to the turnstiles at the south end of the tunnel to gain access to the zoo.
Final landscaping of the plaza area is under way; the “Parade of Animals” sculptures adorn the south side of the plaza while large banner stands await completion of the final concrete work before the banners are hung at the end of July. Watch for further enhancements as the final touches are put in place.
With the opening of the plaza, the old ticket booths have now closed.
Welcome to the Calgary Zoo!
