Self-Guided School Visits

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo offers discounted admission prices for school groups that are visiting for a self-guided field trip. To facilitate a safe visit and adequate supervision, we also include a number of complimentary chaperones. Please see the chaperone ratios list on the page below.

Important Booking Information

1. Review the pricing and chaperone ratios provided below. To receive the discounted rates, all bookings must be paid in full at minimum three (3) days prior to the scheduled date of visit.

2. Contact Guest Relations at (403) 232-9300 to create a booking. You will be asked to provide the following:

• Grade of students attending
• Number of students
• Number of chaperones (including teachers)
• Date of visit and approximate time of arrival
• Contact details for the group

3. Review the school administrator contract below and return a signed copy prior to arrival.

4. Upon arrival, you will be met by members of our Guest Relations team. We will confirm exact numbers of students and chaperones in attendance. Chaperones will receive a wristband for identification and the group will receive a safety briefing prior to admission into the zoo.

5. To receive the discounted rates, all bookings must be paid in full at minimum three (3) days prior to the scheduled date of visit.
