Summer Camps 2025

Half Day Camps – Ages 4-5 yrs

Northern Leopard Frogs

This lively education program is designed for preschool aged children who are ages 4 and 5 and who have not yet completed kindergarten. During these half day camps, children will enjoy games, songs, activities, close up animal encounters, stories, and zoo walkabouts, while enjoying close-up encounters with our animal ambassadors. Half-day camps run weekly from June 30 – August 15.

Time:

  • Northern Leopard Frog Mornings – Drop-off 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Pick-up
  • Northern Leopard Frog Afternoons – Drop-off 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Pick-up

Cost:

$175/week for 5-day camp
$140/week for 4-day camp (August 5-8)

Additional Information:

  • Please note: registration closes at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday the week prior to start of camp.
  • Campers must be able to use a toilet independently – this includes changing pull-ups or other necessary products independently. Staff are not able to help campers with toileting needs. If your child has any special needs that you would like to elaborate on, please contact 403-232-7732.
  • All camps include the opportunity to meet smaller animal ambassadors.
  • Camper age is now automatically verified by the system at the time of booking based on your account information. It cannot be manually overridden by staff and therefore campers must meet the minimum age within five days of the camp starting. For example, if your child is registered in a 4/5 year old camp starting July 2 they must be turning 4 by July 7 to proceed with registration. This is a camp-wide policy and no exceptions are permitted. The bookings system will allow a child who is older to register in a younger camp, provided the difference in age is equal to or less than one year. For example, a 6 year old can register in the half-day Northern Leopard Frog camp if it is deemed a better fit by the registering adult.
  • Before and After Care service is available and can be added at the time of registration:
    • Before Care from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (for AM Northern Leopard Frog only), $55/week for 5 day camps, $44/week for 4 day camps.
    • After Care from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (for PM Northern Leopard Frog only) $55/week for 5 day camps, $44/week for 4 day camps.

Registration information and important dates for 2025:

Summer Camp presented by Booster Juice includes some exciting changes in 2025! We have also made improvements to our registration software and queuing systems that will result in a smoother experience. We heard your feedback and have adjusted our processes.

When you select your preferred week/camp you will enter your camper information, add to cart and submit the payment. Your registration will not be processed until all these steps are completed.  You must click “Add to Cart” in order for the spot to be held for 30 minutes. After the hold period lapses, the spot will be released and may be selected by others.

Wild Scout Member registration opens January 29 at 9 am.

Wild Scout members will receive a private link through the primary email on their membership account on January 27. To confirm which email address will receive the link or to sign up for the member newsletter, please email memberships@calgaryzoo.com. Members who click on the link prior to 9 am on January 29 will be placed in a waiting room.

At 9 am on January 29, registration for Wild Scouts members will go live. Any members who were in the waiting room prior to opening will be randomly sorted, added to a queue, and be able to start accessing registration when it is your turn. Members who click on the link after 9:00AM will be placed in the queue in the order that you joined. While waiting in the queue, you will receive live updates as specific camps/weeks are sold out. You will also be able to see how many people are in line ahead of you. Joining the queue does not guarantee a spot in a camp and you must remain in queue to keep your place in line. Please do not close your browser window or shut off your device, as your place in the queue will not be saved.

Once on the sales page, you must complete your camper’s personal information and then click ‘Add to Cart’ to hold your preferred camp spot for 30 minutes, during which time you can submit payment and complete your registration. After 30 minutes if this is not complete, the spot will be released for others to register in.

General public registration opens February 5 at 9 am.

After this time, a “register here” button will appear on the camp webpage. Guests will be taken through the same process described above for any remaining spots available. General public do not need a specific access link via email or other sign-up method, the registration button will be on this webpage.
