Zoo Closure, September 26: The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 26th for a private staff and volunteer celebration. The last entry for members and day admission will be 3 p.m. The zoo grounds will be cleared by 4 p.m.

Land of Lemurs Walkthrough: The walkthrough in Land of Lemurs is temporarily closed today, Thursday, September 26th, due to inclement weather.
PETRONAS Gateway to Asia: The building will have adjusted viewing from September 23 until mid-November while we complete mechanical upgrades to the Malayan tapir habitat. Komodo dragons will remain viewable indoors. Malayan tapirs and red-crowned cranes will be viewable in their outdoor habitats (weather permitting). White-handed gibbons will not be viewable for the duration of the project.
African Savannah Yard: Our Hartmann’s mountain zebras and ostriches will be off-view until the end of the year while we complete exciting upgrades in the African Savannah Yard, including the construction of a new Savannah Barn for the animals. Our giraffe tower will continue to be viewable throughout the project.

Turn trick-or-treating with the kids into a wild adventure at ZooBOO! Join us on October 26th and 27th for a hauntingly good time. With two days of Halloween fun to choose from, get your kids dressed in their most fang-tastic outfits! They can unleash their creativity on a monster mural, enjoy exciting activities, explore kid-friendly treat stations, and discover incredible wildlife from around the world.

Wild Journey Members, it’s time for Pumpkin Pursuit! Show off your scavenger hunting skills and try to find all eight pumpkins around the zoo. Scan the QR code on each pumpkin to answer a question about your favourite animal that goes “boo!” at the zoo and you’ll be entered in to win prizes ranging from Calgary Hitmen tickets, zoo swag, and more!
All activities taking place for ZooBOO are included with daily admission or memberships. We can’t wait to see you there!
Costumes: We encourage you and your little ones to dress up and enjoy the fun! However, for the safety and comfort of all our guests, the following adult costumes are not permitted on zoo grounds: full-body animal costumes, mascot-style helmets, inflatable outfits, costumes inappropriate for a family setting, or realistic costumes that may pose a security or animal welfare concern. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
