Get ready for some rocking news – two female northern rockhoppers have joined our penguin colony!
These two new arrivals came to us from a facility in Vienna, the result of nearly two years of communication and planning. After a few days adjusting behind the scenes, the currently unnamed females made their debut on the beach in Penguin Plunge and quickly began exploring their new home and meeting their fellow penguins. The one-year-old female has a brown wingband and is smaller compared to the other rockhoppers, while the nine-month-old female does not yet have her distinctive crest of yellow feathers and sports a white wingband.
Stop by Penguin Plunge today to raise a flipper and wave hello!
