We have BIG news – a new muskox has joined our zoo family!
Meet ‘Diesel’, a three-year-old male muskox from Zoo sauvage de St-Félicien in Quebec. Since his arrival in May, he has completed his quarantine at our Wildlife Conservation Centre. His previous care team described him as calm and curious, with a love for engaging with enrichment items, and we couldn’t agree more!
Today, Diesel moves to the zoo grounds to settle into his beautiful new Wild Canada home. Initially, he and our resident female, Tilly, will live in separate halves of the habitat. They will start with mesh-to-mesh introductions, with plans for them to eventually reside together. We’re thrilled for Tilly to have a woolly companion and hope they might contribute to the growth of their species with offspring in the future!
