Like all members of the pig family, Red River hogs are known for their snouts, which are key to their sense of smell and touch and help them forage for food. They have a highly varied diet that includes tubers, fruits, and even bird eggs, snails, and reptiles. This species has scent glands that they will use to mark their territory.
