What is “Plan-Ahead Pricing”?
Plan-ahead pricing for the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo involves lower rates for admission tickets for visitors who purchase their tickets online in advance of their visit.
How does “Plan-Ahead Pricing” work?
The zoo’s pricing calendar, found on our Buy Tickets page, lists the price for each day the zoo is currently selling tickets for. Guests are urged to explore the calendar to find a day that fits both their schedule and their budget. Click the date you want to visit to purchase the tickets for that day.
Please note that prices may change daily, so you must lock-in the price by purchasing online.
How does “Plan-Ahead Pricing” benefit me?
By planning ahead and booking in advance, you can save on ticket costs when compared to day of pricing at our ticket gates. This provides more flexibility and choice in planning your zoo visit.
How do I purchase a ticket?
- Visit the Buy Tickets page
- Click on the day you wish to visit. The further you purchase in advance, the more you save!
- Choose your tickets
- Click “Continue” and check out
How far ahead do I need to purchase tickets in order to save?
Tickets will generally cost more on the day of a visit, so buying even a day in advance may save you money. Typically, the further ahead you buy a ticket, the more you’ll save.
If I buy today, is it possible for the price to go down tomorrow?
No. The price of your admission will increase as you approach your preferred day of visit, so it is always best to buy your ticket in advance.
What if I am sick or cannot come to the zoo on my ticket date? Can I get a refund?

Will you still offer discounts for groups?
For those coming in a group of 20 or more, a 20% discount is available.
Please contact our Guest Relations team at (403) 232-9300 for details. Group tickets are not eligible to use towards a membership. ZOOLIGHTS admission, or other special events.
I don’t have the ability to purchase tickets online to take advantage of plan-ahead pricing. How can I purchase tickets in advance of my visit?

How does “Plan-Ahead Pricing” affect membership?
Membership prices will remain at a flat rate that can be found by visiting our Memberships page. Membership benefits will be maintained with discounts applied to the price for the day. Visitors
can purchase admission tickets online or at the gate.
Can I apply the cost of my tickets to the purchase of a membership?
Yes. Upgrade your day admission ticket towards a Wild Journey Membership or Wild Access Pass within seven days of visiting. The value of your admission ticket will be applied to the cost of the membership purchased.
